In an age where artificial intelligence informs our culture, this course gives students an opportunity to actively pursue the creative skills, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence needed to navigate an evolving world authentically. In this course, literature and creative writing intersect to provide students with essential skills and experiences with which they can approach lives of work and well-being. Students read fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction by modern and contemporary writers in pursuit of a genre-fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction-that will help them develop an authentic voice of their own, learn how to navigate online tools to support the development of that voice, and apply analytical skills both to traditional literary texts as well as their own work and that of their peers.
